Most AI tools let you set custom instructions that shape every conversation. This is where your wellness system begins. Here's a template you can customize:

Example custom instruction: "I use you as a wellness companion, not a therapist. I want you to: (1) Ask me how I'm doing when I start a conversation. (2) Help me journal using the Socratic method — questions, not advice. (3) If I seem to be in crisis, remind me to call 988 or text HOME to 741741. (4) Use a warm, direct tone. Don't be overly cheerful. (5) Remember that I'm working on [your specific goals]. (6) Never diagnose me or play therapist."

Spend 10 minutes customizing this. It transforms AI from a generic chatbot into a wellness companion that matches how you want to be supported.

Privacy reminder: Your custom instructions and conversations may be stored. Don't include anything you wouldn't want a company to see. Keep sensitive details for your therapist, not your AI.

Daily, weekly, monthly — pick what works.

You don't have to do everything. Pick from this menu based on what fits your life:

Daily (pick 1-2, 5 minutes each):

  • Morning check-in: "How am I feeling today? What do I need?"
  • Evening journal: Brain dump or Socratic journal (Lesson 2)
  • One mindful moment: AI-guided breathing or grounding (Lesson 4)
  • Daily win: Name one thing you did well (Lesson 9)

Weekly (pick 1, 15 minutes):

  • Habit check-in: How did your habits go? What needs adjusting? (Lesson 3)
  • Social bridge: One action step toward human connection (Lesson 7)
  • Energy review: Is your routine working? What needs to shift? (Lesson 6)

Monthly (pick 1, 20 minutes):

  • Full system review: What's working? What isn't? What do I need more of?
