Tier 2 — Medium risk: Customer-facing systems, automated decisions with human override, predictive analytics. Quarterly review, bias testing, explainability requirements. Tier 3 — High risk: Systems affecting employment, credit, health, safety, or legal rights. Pre-deployment review, continuous monitoring, mandatory human oversight, full audit trail.
This tiered approach means you are not slowing down low-risk innovation with heavy-risk governance. Speed where it is safe. Caution where it matters.
The Responsibility You Cannot Outsource
Every AI system inherits the biases in its training data and the assumptions of its designers. This is not a theoretical concern — it is a measurable, testable, fixable problem. Build bias testing into your deployment pipeline. Test across demographic groups. Measure disparate impact. Document your findings and your decisions.
